Judaica Sabbath Candlesticks | $0.00 USD

Antique pair of Judaica Sabbath candlesticks by Polish metalsmith Fraget N Plaque. Circa 1890. The candlesticks are 11" tall, made of brass, with traces of their original silverplate still showing. They are in reasonably good condition, a few bends, and a minute separation on one seam. Fraget was a Polish metalsmith whose firm became a subsidiary of the famous German metal company WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik). Poland was part of Russia when these were made, and at that time in many parts of Russia it was forbidden for Jews to own silver, so instead they made their candlesticks from brass, and plated them with silver.
